Sustainability
The greenest fitting is the one you have.
Retrofit keeps materials in use, cuts landfill and reduces the energy your lighting uses every day.
Circular economy
Keep materials in use.
Luminaire bodies, often aluminium and steel, stay in service. Only the internals are replaced, so far less material is manufactured and discarded.

Operational carbon
Less energy, every day.
Efficient LED engines and drivers reduce the electricity your lighting uses, lowering running costs and operational carbon.

Lower upfront cost
Upgrade within budget.
Retrofit avoids the cost of new fittings and much of the ceiling work, making LED achievable when full replacement isn't.
Retrofit vs replace →
Peace of mind
A renewed 5-year warranty.
Every retrofitted luminaire is tested in our facility and comes back with a renewed 5-year warranty.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is retrofitting lighting more sustainable than replacing it?
Generally yes. Retrofit keeps existing luminaire bodies in use, reducing manufacturing, waste and embodied carbon, while LED cuts energy use.
Does reLUMEN8 support ESG and net zero goals?
Retrofit reduces both waste and operational carbon from lighting, which supports ESG reporting and net zero plans.
What happens to the old components?
Replaced internal components should be disposed of responsibly through appropriate WEEE recycling routes.
Measuring the impact
Every reLUMEN8 project can be reported in the terms your ESG and sustainability teams use: kWh and £ saved, operational carbon saved using the UK government 2025 grid factor of 0.177 kgCO2e per kWh, and luminaire bodies kept out of waste. Retrofit avoids the embodied carbon of manufacturing and shipping new fittings and keeps ceilings intact.
Estimate your figures with the LED retrofit savings calculator, then ask us for a project-specific report.
